(KTIV) -- Tonight we have some Thai BBQ beef skewers.
This recipe is from a Bishop Heelan foreign exchange student from Thailand.
His name is Supakorn, which is why his host family named this recipe "Super Korn's Thai BBQ Beef Skewers."

- 2 lbs Beef (Sirloin or Charcoal Steak) thinly sliced in thick strips
- First marinade:
- 1/4 cup of oil
- 1/2 teaspoon of salt
- Second Marinade:
- 3 to 4 cloves of garlic
- 1/2 teaspoon of white pepper
- 1/2 teaspoon of black pepper
- 1 cup of coconut milk
- 4 tablespoons of palm sugar
- 1 tablespoon of sugar
- 1/2 teaspoon of salt
- 4 tablespoons of Oyster Sauce
- 3 tablespoons of dark soy sauce
- 1 teaspoon of tapioca flour
- Wood Bamboo Skewers (If you soak bamboo skewers in water prior to putting meat on helps the skewers not to burn when grilling)
Directions
- Slice beef into thin strips.
- Then make the first marinade.
- Put in gallon ziplock bag oil and salt mix, then add meat.
- Massage in closed ziplock bag of meat for 5-10 minutes or let marinate for 10 to 20 minutes.
- While meat is in the first marinade start the second marinade.
- In a bowl add the garlic (minced), palm sugar (break apart or cut up in small pieces), sugar, white pepper, black pepper, sugar, salt, tapioca flour and mix.
- Then add to the bowl the liquid ingredients coconut milk, oyster sauce and dark soy sauce mix well.
- Divide the second marinade and put 3/4 of it in a new ziplock gallon bag.
- Take the meat out of the first marinade’s ziplock bag and add to the second marinade’s ziplock bag.
- Close the ziplock bag and massage for 15-20 minutes or let it sit and marinate for 30-40 minutes.
- Then put meat on skewers.
- Grill on 3 to 5 minutes (or until done) on each side while basting with the second marinade you had set aside.
