According to the company, "The ultimate comfort food holiday is back and it’s time to celebrate National Fried Chicken & Waffle Day on Saturday, August 8 – a day created by Metro Diner! Honoring its third year and recognized as an official holiday by Chase’s Calendar, the famous Fried Chicken & Waffle dish from Metro Diner comes complete with a fluffy Belgian Waffle topped with sweet strawberry butter and half a fried chicken and served with the diner’s signature sweet and spicy sauce. For ultimate flavor, the diner starts preparing their chicken for 48 hours prior to serving, first brining it for 24 hours and then marinating for an additional 24 hours for maximum flavor and juiciness."
During 2019, Metro Diner sold more than 485,000 orders of Fried Chicken & Waffles which is almost 2 million pieces of fried chicken.
To celebrate the holiday this year, Metro Diner is hosting a three-day social media contest from August 8-10 and diner fans have the chance to win the following prizes:
Grand Prize: One Grand Prize winner will win FREE Fried Chicken & Waffles for one entire year.
Second Place Winners: Ten 2nd place winners will receive a one-time free order of Fried Chicken & Waffles for two.
Third Place Winners: Twenty 3rd place winners will receive a one-time free single order of the dish.
How to Enter:
From Saturday, August 8 at 8 a.m. through Monday, August 10 at 12 p.m., followers can enter to win one of the 3 prizes online by liking Metro Diner’s National Fried Chicken & Waffle Day post on their Instagram and/or Facebook page and then tagging a friend.
For five additional entries, followers can share their own post of the Fried Chicken & Waffle dish following the rules on their contest post. Contest stipulations are listed below.
Fried Chicken & Waffles Added To Meal Pack Menu Starting Aug. 10
In addition, Metro Diner is introducing Fried Chicken & Waffles to their Meal Pack Menu lineup that feeds up to four people and will be available on Mondays – Thursdays, August 10-27. When guests place an order for pick-up ($44) or have it delivered ($46), they will receive four BONUS fried chicken tenders.
