In an effort to address the surging community food bank need due to the COVID-19 pandemic’s impact on the economy, seven county Farm Bureaus (Medina, Summit, Wayne, Portage, Stark, Carroll and Holmes) collaborated in a Pork to Pantry project which resulted in 5,160 pounds of ground pork being donated to the Akron-Canton Regional Foodbank. Additional sponsors included Farm Credit Mid-America, Ohio Pork Council’s Pork Power Program, Deerfield Ag Services, Trent Insurance Group, Dennis Taylor Agency, Dustin Burgess Insurance Group, and Kim Davis Agency. The pork was delivered Aug. 5. Pictured are representatives from each sponsor organization.
