A new barbecue restaurant promises brisket and pulled pork sandwiches on the westside. Steve’s Pig Pikins BBQ opened with a short roster of barbecue dishes from pitmaster Steve Roy, who competes on the Nevada Barbecue Association team, participating in his first cook off in 2013. He now serves as president of the association.

His menu includes brisket, pulled pork, chicken, and hot links in sandwiches or as platters. The Hank features brisket, pulled pork, cheddar cheese, American cheese, fried onion strings, whiskey barbecue beans, sugar, pickles, and green onions on a toasted brioche bun, while the spicy Rea comes with hot links, pulled chicken, pepper jack and American cheese, onion, jalapeños, and whiskey barbecue beans.

Order two varieties of smothered tots, or sides such as bacon potato salad and fried corn nuggets.

Customers can also order barbecue by the pound, including pork ribs, or find items on the kids’ menu. Takeout as well as dine-in available.

Steve’s Pig Pikins BBQ, 873 S. Rainbow Boulevard, 702-331-7118. Open daily from 11 a.m. to 8 p.m.
