A new restaurant within a restaurant brings Southern fried chicken on a secret menu to two locations in the Las Vegas area. Lucille’s Smokehouse Bar-B-Que opened the Chicken Shack, a restaurant within a restaurant, focusing on buttermilk fried and smoked chicken specialties, sides, and a special dessert.
The only way to discover the secret menu is through a QR code that diners scan on their smartphone.
The menu features a riff on Nashville hot chicken, as well as a crispy hot-honey chicken sandwich, and a ’Bama chicken sandwich with house-made Alabama white barbecue sauce.
Diners can make it an entree with the Alabama chicken dinner with a half chicken marinated in apple cider and Lucille’s own rib spice, then slow smoked and topped with white Alabama barbecue sauce; a Mardi Gras chicken dinner featuring two Nashville breaded fried chicken breasts topped with Creole cream sauce with shrimp, andouille sausage, and red and yellow peppers; or a Nashville hot chicken dinner with buttermilk-soaked, then breaded and fried chicken tossed in Nashville hot sauce.
Some of the sides include a Nashville mac and cheese tossed with fried chicken bites and Nashville hot sauce, jalapeño cheddar cornbread, Hatch green chile fries, or loaded mashed potatoes.
That special dessert? A deep-fried brownie that comes battered in Oreo cookies.
The restaurant inside Lucille’s is open at Red Rock Resort and at the District at Green Valley Ranch. Both offer takeout and delivery options as well as dine-in service.
