Maui Cattle Company will host a third drive-up sale of beef on Friday at its Kahului facility.
Customers will be able to purchase 5-pound vacuum-sealed bags of ground beef for $20 from 8 a.m. to noon.
“There is clearly a want for local grass-fed beef as we sold almost 7,000 pounds of meat at our last drive-up sale,” Maui Cattle Company Operations Manager Elli Funakoshi said in a news release Tuesday. “We want to do all we can to support our community during COVID-19 and offering cost-effective meat is just one way we are doing so.”
Maui Cattle Company cattle are born and grazed on Maui and processed in the company’s facility. All cattle are grass-fed and grass-finished, resulting in leaner meat than commercially raised products, the company said. All meat is free of artificial ingredients, growth stimulants or antibiotics.
The company will have a supply of chilled and frozen bags and will be producing throughout the day. There is no limit on purchases, and customers must wear a face covering when driving up.
The facility is located at 106 S. Kane St. between Kahului Foodland and Sysco.
