Weekly export sales decline for pork, cotton, and rice
The USDA reports export sales of pork, cotton, and rice declined this week following large sales the week prior.
China was the top purchaser of corn, soybeans, and sorghum, and made significant purchases of US beef, pork, and cotton.
The purchases come as the country continues to try and meet purchase obligations under the Phase One trade agreement, despite ongoing political tensions between the U.S. and China.
China’s National Development and Reform Commission says it will leave low tariff rate import quotas for wheat, corn, rice, and cotton unchanged for 2021.
The USDA’s next set of supply and demand estimates is out October 9th.
