Penn State Extension will hold its Beef Cattle Short Course online this month.
The course, normally held in person in State College, will cover beef economics and marketing and strategies for raising calves that excel in the feedyard.
Participants will be walked through a virtual live cattle evaluation followed by a guided grading of those same cattle on the rail and a carcass cutting demonstration during the webinar.
The online course will be held Oct. 20-21. Sessions will run 10 a.m. to 4 p.m. both days with a break for lunch. Event organizers encourage participants to join all sessions.
The cost is $25. Register at extension.psu.edu/beef-cattle-short-course or call 877-345-0691 by Oct. 19.
This event receives support from the Pennsylvania Beef Producers Working Group.
