JR’s Old Packinghouse Cafe announces that October is Pork Month! Beginning Monday, October 5, JR’s features delectable, original Cuban pork sandwiches, made with JR’s mouthwatering mojo pork, and invites Sarasota residents to “come see what all the fuss is about!”
“We need more pork! There’s plenty of pork in Washington, but Sarasota is sadly lacking in pork, and I aim to change that immediately,” said owner J.R. Garraus. The restaurant, founded in 1999, is a popular venue for laid back dining, live music, amazing burgers, and authentic Cuban dishes. JR’s Old Packinghouse Cafe was nominated for “Best Cuban Sandwich in Florida” by USA Today.
JR’s Pork Month menu includes:
- Pork Melt - Cuban shredded pork on rye bread with homemade queso
- Miami Pork Philly – Cuban shredded pork on garlic hoagie covered in homemade queso
- Old Fashioned Pork Open Face - Cuban shredded pork on garlic toast covered in brown gravy
Above items served with french fries and small cole slaw - $10.95 each
Pork Month specials – and plenty of booze! - are available daily through October for dine-in and pickup.
With diners’ health in mind, JR’s offers flexible dining options including safe-distance indoor dining, outdoor dining and take-out. At JR’s, you can always count on tasty, made-to-order food featuring fresh, locally-sourced ingredients prepared with love.
