Here are some of the items that have taken place or will take place through early next year.

To access these and other excellent beef educational content, go to the UK Beef IRM Facebook Page or the Department of Animal and Food Science YouTube page, bit.ly/3rqehIr. Subscribe to the Animal and Food Science YouTube page and click the notifications bell to receive a notification whenever they publish new beef education content.

REACHING OUT WHILE LOCKED IN RESUMES IN FEBRUARY. The UK Beef Webinar Series Reaching Out While Locked In resumes in February and continues through May of 2021.

The sessions are the first and third Tuesday of each month and starts at 8 p.m. EST. They do not have all of the titles and speakers locked down yet, but they are planning sessions on preparing for the calving season, targeted feeding, reproductive management, weed management, forage management, economic outlook and a special Shooting the Bull session with the beef extension team to address your questions, and discuss current challenges and opportunities.

More information will follow in January, but we wanted to give you the opportunity to hold the dates. If you or anyone you know might be interested and will benefit from these educational programs, send your or their name and county to dbullock@uky.edu with the subject beef webinar.

If you would like a list of the past YouTube videos, contact me at the Hardin County Extension Service and we’ll get that info to you.

HOLIDAY OFFICE CLOSING AND RETIREMENTS. The Hardin County Cooperative Extension Service will be closed for the Christmas and New Year holidays beginning at the close of business on Dec. 18 through Jan. 4 as per University of Kentucky guidelines. We look forward to seeing you all in the new year, and wish you all the best over the Christmas and New Year holiday season. Stay safe and enjoy your families whether close or from a distance.

Also we want to thank Joni Hill, Extension Service receptionist, and Bonnie Jolly, county 4-H agent, for their many years of service to the people of Hardin County. Both have recently announced their retirement, and won’t be a part of our Extension Staff as we begin 2021. Wishing both the best in their retirement and new adventures.
