The Jimmy Dean company, a pork juggernaut built on the country singer’s childhood memories of making fresh sausage with his grandpa in Texas, is jumping on the plant protein bandwagon.

The company, a Tyson Foods brand, on Tuesday announced its first meat-free breakfasts in response to rising consumer interest.

“Plant-based foods are revolutionizing the way people eat,” Scott Glenn, senior director of marketing for Jimmy Dean, said in a statement introducing the two new products.

The Jimmy Dean Plant-Based Patty, Egg & Cheese Croissant Sandwich features a plant-based patty made of soy protein and egg whites that will be layered with eggs and American cheese inside a croissant. They’ll be sold in a package of 12 at Sam’s Club locations starting this month.

The Jimmy Dean Delights Plant-Based Patty & Frittata Sandwich has a vegetable and grain patty that’s made of soy protein, black beans, brown rice, quinoa and egg white. It will be topped with a spinach and egg white frittata and American cheese and served inside a whole wheat English muffin. These will be sold in a pack of four at retailers nationwide starting this spring.

The former has 360 calories and 13 grams of protein, the latter 280 calories and 15 grams of protein.

Consumers who want to share their thoughts on Twitter about the new croissant sandwich will be entered into a sweepstakes to win a Sam’s Club Savings membership gift card ($45 value) and a $20 gift card for sandwiches. Go to @JimmyDean and use #JDPlantBasedPatty hashtag.
