Members of the Dallas County Cattlemen’s Association heard about how to increase profitability when marketing their cattle at the March 9 meeting of the group. BTC Bank of Buffalo sponsored the evening meal and meeting, which were held at Prairie Grove School. The bank was represented by Jim Krueger and Seth Cline.
Speaking to the group that night was American Breeders Service representative Jared Wareham, NuEra business development manager for North America. Wareham explained the goal of NuEra Genetics is to deliver genetics that are more profitable across the beef supply chain for commercial beef customers. NuEra Genetics are designed to meet customer needs by creating a calf that is more valuable at marketing.
NuEra Genetics by ABS Global encompasses all proprietary ABS beef breeding programs, evaluations and indexes. Launched in July 2017, it delivers differentiated and superior terminal genetics for beef supply chain profitability.
Also talking to the group was Wes Davies of Missouri Prime Beef Packers, in Pleasant Hope. This 100,000-square-foot facility will have the capacity to process 500 head per day and will custom process cattle for a variety of niche programs that emphasize a connection between the consumer and the producer. The company looks to employ 250 people when in full production.
Missouri Prime Beef Packers, working with Missouri farmers and ranchers to help supply quality U.S. Department of Agriculture choice and prime beef from Missouri Grown beef, will offer exclusive Show Me Beef. This beef is born, raised, finished and harvested in the state of Missouri.
Region 6 Vice President of the Missouri Cattlemen’s Association Warren Love of Osceola was on hand to update attendees about recent happenings at the state and national levels.
The April 13 DCCA meeting will be at Prairie Grove School. The night will feature the group’s annual pie auction to benefit its scholarship program, as well as a chili dinner.
