2021 Pork Production Will Flatten Out but Remain High - newsdakota.com

(NAFB) – 2020 was a rough year in the pork industry, but 2021 finds things looking more optimistic than they were a year ago.

Dr. Scott Brown is an Associate Extension Professor at the University of Missouri, and he says things look better in 2021.

While the overall growth in pork, beef, and chicken production will level off this year, that might be a good thing for pork prices.

He expects exports to slow, especially to China, later in the year. With a possible slowdown in pork production in 2021, he says that might not be a bad thing.
