Korean Fried Chicken Chain BB.Q Chicken Will Open in Houston - Eater Houston

BB.Q Chicken, a popular purveyor of shatteringly crisp Korean fried chicken, will soon open its doors in Houston proper.

Permits filed with the Texas Alcoholic Beverage Commission indicate that BB.Q Chicken will soon open its doors at 8383 Westheimer Road, Suite 114. It’s the latest Texas outpost for the chain, which already operates outposts in Katy, Dallas-Fort Worth and Austin. According to Eater Austin, BB.Q Chicken has plans for more 50,000 locations across the globe in the coming years.

As far as the food is concerned, expect both boneless and bone-in fried chicken that’s marinated, battered, and fried over a two-day process, then slathered in sweet and spicy or honey-garlic sauces. There’s also “Cupbob,” or bulgogi and short rib bibimbap bowls that are, not surprisingly served in cups, along with snacks like fried cheese sticks, takoyaki, tteokbokki, and waffle fries.

No official opening date has been set for BB.Q Chicken’s Houston debut, but a post to the restaurant’s Facebook page indicates that it will open sometime in September. Stay tuned for more details.
